EQUATION OF EARNINGS

This is something I've received lately through an e-mail posted by one of my friends. Illogical as it may be but there's seems slight truth in it. Enjoy!

Engineers and scientists will never make as much money as business executives. Now, a rigorous mathematical proof has been developed that explains why this is true:

Postulate 1: KNOWLEDGE is POWER

Postulate 2: TIME is MONEY

As every Engineers know,

WORK = POWER * TIME

From Postulates 1 & 2, since

KNOWLEDGE = POWER and TIME = MONEY, we have,

WORK = KNOWLEDGE * MONEY

Solving for MONEY, we get,

MONEY = WORK / KNOWLEDGE

Thus, mathematically expressed, as KNOWLEDGE decreases, MONEY increases regardless of how much WORK is done!

Conclusion: The LESS you KNOW, the MORE you MAKE!

* It has been speculated that the reason why Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard's Math program was because he stumbled upon this proof as an undergraduate, and dedicated the rest of his career to the pursuit of ignorance.

You bet! Till the next posting.

  2. I'll b the 2nd! ha2. Still, in our case, in this type of environment, pursuit of knowledge is the priority.

    Unless with some magical touch, we become more like an American Dreams* kind of world - this remains a joke.

    *Can't wait for that day to come...

  5. Ila: Can't wait to hear from u then.

    Qas: Whether Einstein hit millions @ not due to his fame, I'm not sure but what I do know is that he declined a suggestion to become 2nd President of Israel. Other than his award in 1921 Nobel Prize (USD 1million) none is ever stated.
